Happy Birthday to me.

Well today (technically yesterday) was my 35th birthday. I can't believe I'm 35, that is officially old to me. I ended up having a pretty nice day. Though going into it I was feeling pretty bummed. Originally my mom was supposed to take me out for a girls day of shopping and lunch with my cousin Jamie, but she found out she had to work. Then Don was supposed to take me out to dinner, but he had to go to the fire dept. So I started out the day with nothing to do.

So Bug and I went to Adventure Kids (the school age playgroup) for our MOMS club, it was nice to hang out and visit with friends, around noon we headed over to a local restaurant that gives you a free steak dinner on your birthday and Don met us there. The lunch was good and Don gave me my birthday present, a new ipod Nano. I have been really wanting an ipod so was very excited to get this. I can't wait to learn how to download music into it.

After lunch Don headed back to work and we went to my friend Brenda's to visit for awhile, she gave me a nice gift. It is one of those lights that look like a candle but have a flickering led light in them. It should match really well with the new color that I am (actually her husband Bryan is) painting my massage room at work. Then Bug and I went to Maggie Moos for some birthday ice cream.

After we got home I worked on the new bedroom until dinner and then Bug took me out to Mustard Seed for dinner. Don had given him the money to take me out. So at the end of the meal Bug got the check, I told him about tips and we figured out how much he needed to pay and how to do it and he took care of it. I'm sure the waited thought I was crazy, but Bug did a good job and you could tell he was proud of himself for being the man.

So as you can see I ended up having a very nice day. One of the nicest things about today,was that my facebook goes straight to my cell phone and so throughout the day I got nice birthday wishes from many of my friends. Definitely made the day go that much better.

We had a busy day today! 1st we tried to get a little schoolwork done, then Bug and I headed to our church for "Breakaway". This is a time for all the moms to get together once a month. We get to spend some time in prayer, some time talking and getting to know one another a little better and of course spend sometime eating, because when can a big group of women get together and there not be food involved. It was a lot of fun and they have changed the format somewhat this year, so it should be interesting. After Breakaway we headed to the fair and met Blue. Bug had such a blast riding the rides. He is of course now more that big enough for all of the kiddie rides, he even branched out and rode on some of the bigger rides in the afternoon. He was a little nervous at 1st so I told him to ask this girl if he could sit be her. Of course she said yea and you can see him chatting her up in the 1st pic. (If he stays as outgoing as he is now his teen years should be a breeze. ha ha

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good gift frenzy.

Merry Christmas or at least merry Christmas eve. Bug is sleeping in this morning so I figured I would catch up on my blogging. Everything is basically ready around here. I do need to go pick up a few food items but other than that everything is done. Of course just as a I write that i think of 5 other things I need to do: wrap a couple more presents, stuff some stockings, get a goody tray ready for Blue's work, etc.... We will be having Christmas at our house tomorrow, the only downer is that Blue has to work today and tomorrow. You gotta love the transit system around here, (he is a bus driver, if I haven't mentioned that before). So today we will run around and finish things up, then go to our Christmas Eve Church Service at 5. Then when Blue gets home we will cook up some pizza and after dinner we will open our stockings. In the morning we will just be hanging out until he gets home around 1 then we will have a nice lunch/brunch and then the gift frenzy will begin. Actually

No Bug for the week

This week Bug is going to a VBS at a local church, it runs from 9-3. Which is very nice in a way but also very strange. I took him in this morning and hung out with him for a few minutes while he got adjusted, then I went to the grocery store. Which was all fine but when I had to pass back by the church to head home it felt weird not having him, then all day at home I went back and forth between enjoying my time getting things done around the house and checking to see if it was time to pick him up yet. I got there to pick him up about 15 min early and waited around anxiously, when he finally came out he looked so tired, he seemed to have a good time but he did say "they sang for HOOUURRRS" and did not get to go out and play on the playground, but he is looking forward to going back tomorrow. This will be a strange week without him home all day. But it will be good practice for him because he will be going to a campfire day camp in a couple of weeks where he will be picked up
