Nieces, Babyshowers and Picnics Oh My!

Image
It has been a rather busy week. My niece has been here since last Sun she is definitely a full fledged teenager now and spent a tremendous amount of time texting her friends. She is very quiet so it is hard to tell whether she is enjoying herself or not but I think overall she had a pretty good time. We went to Silverwood while she was here and I know she enjoyed that, though she would have liked to go on a few more roller coasters but Bug was having nothing to do with that. Unfortunately due to poor planning on my part I had to work quite a bit this week also on Sat I had a baby shower for my friend Brenda and had to spend my free time getting ready for that. The baby shower turned out well, we decorated onsies for her, I wished I had taken pics of them there were some really, really cute ones. Sunday night my sister drove over with my Nephew J and his friend and spent the night. Then she and K came with us to my MOMS club en d of the year picnic. It was very nice, I even got a nice l

On Sun when we were done camping we headed over to Seattle area and picked up my niece K. We took our time working our way home on Mon, we stopped at my favorite bakery and played a game, then stopped at my favorite outlet mall and did some shopping. We didn't end up making it home until after 7 at night. Then we ran to Costco to get tickets for Silverwood, where we went on Tue. We had good weather, not too hot, but not too cold. Bug didn't want to go on any roller coasters this year so K had to go on a couple rides by herself but overall we had a good time. Yesterday I had to work in the morning so Bug and K came with me and K got a pedicure while we were there, then we hung out the rest of the afternoon at home so I could get some cleaning and errands done for the baby shower I am having for my friend Brenda this weekend. I am very excited about the shower and love seeing everything coming together. Everything is about ready so on Sat I will head over to the site and start se

aaahhh, Time at the Lake

Last week we took our new camper out for it's 1st real camping trip. We went out to Blue lake for 4 days with some friends. There ended up being 25 of us. It was a ton of fun, we went water skiing and took the kids inner tubing. They even had little peddle boats to rent to take out along the shore line (see pic). Bug's hair is really blond now and even with all the sunscreen he is quite the dark little indian. We had 12 kids there but Bug being the little individual that he is made fast friends with the little boy that lives at the camp ground and spent all his time with him. They were a good match, he was just as bossy and just as imaginative as Bug is, they had a great time and boy were they dirty. Just the way camping should be. Very relaxing and very fun, I even had time to catch up on some of my reading I have a stack of magazines a foot high that I hadn't gotten around to so it was nice to read through a few of them.

The garage sale "Queen" has returned.

Due to all the weird weather we have had around here this spring, I have not been able to go garage saleing the way I usually do, but have been making up for that the last 2 weekends. On the 14th was one of my favorite garage sale events. There is a little town by us named Liberty that the entire town has a sale usually over 250 houses participate. So I was up at 6 in the morning dressed and on the way. I was there just before 7 as people were just setting up. The toys I look for are getting harder to find lately or they are too much money. I did hit the jack pot right at the beginning though. There was a man who had some toys just sitting out at the corner, he had 1/2 a big toy, a car and a slide all for 20.00. All of which I turned around and sold for 100.00. It was a good start to the day. Since mom is not working as much lately I have hired her to go to other garage sales and look for stuff. She did fine her 1st weekend and made over 20.00 but this weekend she got desperate and bou

He's in the Army now..... or is that the Marines?

The local Parks and Rec put on a Camo Party at one of our local parks on Tue. So we got Cole's best camo outfit and away we went. It was raining pretty good out, so I was worried that it might be canceled but my husband said Army guys don't cancel due to rain and since I didn't get any phone calls we decided to check it out. There were about 10 boys there and it was run by 2 guys who I believe were ex marines, (I know one was but I am not positive about the other). They started out talking about the different branches of the military and what the symbols on the Marines hat stand for. Then they taught the boys to say "Sir, Yes Sir!" Which the boys liked but were not very good at remembering, they also taught them to line up and stand at attention. After this they took them over and taught them how to climb a rope (see pic 1), then they went for a run (in the rain, just like the real Army men), and then came back and had chow. The guys told them about a typical day

Introductions

I would like to introduce you all to the 2 new members of our family. They are 2 year old brothers, that we have named George & Cutie. They are of course our new Guinea Pigs. Here are some pics of Bug with his new friends. The pics on the left are George and the pics on the right are Cutie. Cutie has more white fur and is braver when he is out of the cage and George is more adventurous inside the cage. Bug is really enjoying his new friends.
