Movie and a Playdate

Today we went to the kid's movie special at one of our local theaters and saw Night at the Museum 2, with one of Bug's little friends. It was a rainy day around here so it was very busy there and we saw loads of people we new. People from Moms club, ex member's of MOMS club and people from church. The movie was good, we had seen it before at the beginning of summer at the drive-ins, but it was the 2nd feature so it was after midnight when it started. So it was nice to see it while I was more awake.

After the movie we brought Bug's friend E home with us and they played for most of the afternoon. We are putting up a fence in our backyard and re-doing the yard, so there is a huge pile of sand back there so they played some game using that and ended up filthy. They had a good time though and that's what counts.

It was weird to be home all day and have Don there, I am on vacation this week, (we were supposed to go camping with some friends of ours but it didn't work out). So usually if I am home Don is at work and vice versa, we rarely get a day home together. It was nice just to hang out together.

I'm getting excited for my girls weekend away this weekend, (with everybody from work). Hopefully though the weather will get nicer, it is pretty rainy and overcast, which is not going to make for much fun at the lake. But if there isn't sun then there's always alcohol to make the day cheery.

A day at the fair.

We had a busy day today! 1st we tried to get a little schoolwork done, then Bug and I headed to our church for "Breakaway". This is a time for all the moms to get together once a month. We get to spend some time in prayer, some time talking and getting to know one another a little better and of course spend sometime eating, because when can a big group of women get together and there not be food involved. It was a lot of fun and they have changed the format somewhat this year, so it should be interesting. After Breakaway we headed to the fair and met Blue. Bug had such a blast riding the rides. He is of course now more that big enough for all of the kiddie rides, he even branched out and rode on some of the bigger rides in the afternoon. He was a little nervous at 1st so I told him to ask this girl if he could sit be her. Of course she said yea and you can see him chatting her up in the 1st pic. (If he stays as outgoing as he is now his teen years should be a breeze. ha ha

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good gift frenzy.

Merry Christmas or at least merry Christmas eve. Bug is sleeping in this morning so I figured I would catch up on my blogging. Everything is basically ready around here. I do need to go pick up a few food items but other than that everything is done. Of course just as a I write that i think of 5 other things I need to do: wrap a couple more presents, stuff some stockings, get a goody tray ready for Blue's work, etc.... We will be having Christmas at our house tomorrow, the only downer is that Blue has to work today and tomorrow. You gotta love the transit system around here, (he is a bus driver, if I haven't mentioned that before). So today we will run around and finish things up, then go to our Christmas Eve Church Service at 5. Then when Blue gets home we will cook up some pizza and after dinner we will open our stockings. In the morning we will just be hanging out until he gets home around 1 then we will have a nice lunch/brunch and then the gift frenzy will begin. Actually

No Bug for the week

This week Bug is going to a VBS at a local church, it runs from 9-3. Which is very nice in a way but also very strange. I took him in this morning and hung out with him for a few minutes while he got adjusted, then I went to the grocery store. Which was all fine but when I had to pass back by the church to head home it felt weird not having him, then all day at home I went back and forth between enjoying my time getting things done around the house and checking to see if it was time to pick him up yet. I got there to pick him up about 15 min early and waited around anxiously, when he finally came out he looked so tired, he seemed to have a good time but he did say "they sang for HOOUURRRS" and did not get to go out and play on the playground, but he is looking forward to going back tomorrow. This will be a strange week without him home all day. But it will be good practice for him because he will be going to a campfire day camp in a couple of weeks where he will be picked up
