K's vacation Thur-Sun
We have been taking it easier the last few days. On Thur, Bug was gone in the morning so K slept in until noon or so, Don took Bug to math. So we just hung out around the house until 1ish then went and picked him up and ran a couple of errands until I had to head to work. The kids came with me and K got a nice french pedicure done while Bug watched a movie.
On Fri K got to sleep in again and Bug was looking for someone to play with but everyone we called had something going on. So we ended up heading over to one of our local parks, they are building a new pool there and I wanted to see when it was opening. Unfortunately it's not till next Mon after K has gone home. The kids played for a bit but the splash pad was closed, so we ended up heading out to Starbucks and getting some drinks and then going over to another park, so they could go in the splash pad. (This is when Bug's headache that I mentioned in flashback Friday started).
After that we went out to the local camp fire camp for their open house. It was a lot of fun (until Bug's headache got really bad). We had planned to swim but never got around to it. We had a hot dog dinner, then snow cones and got Bug's face painted. Then we played a couple games and made some s'mores. Checked out the shelter that Bug would be in this year if he goes to camp, checked out some stuff under the microscope and a few other things. We stayed for the drawing Bug's number was 864 and 863 and 865 both won, we were very bummed.
On Sat Bug woke up not feeling well and went back to bed. He woke up around 10:30 crying with another headache, so we took him into the urgent care clinic and they sent us to the local children's hospital, by the time we got there Bug was feeling pretty much all better and they sent us on our way after giving him some ibuprofen. We went and grabbed some lunch and then headed home. Grandma got off a little after we got home and I took K to go meet her at the mall and they did some shopping K got some really cute new clothes, all name brand. Which just goes to show that a lot changes between motherhood and grand motherhood. I always begged my mom for brand name clothes and she always said no, and here she is buying K Aeropostale and American Eagle. We finished off the evening with a BBQ dinner and my Don's new BBQ, Bug got him for a late father's day gift. We had hand made burgers that I got at the last dinner exchange I did and they were fabulous, I forgot how good homemade hamburgers were as opposed to the frozen ones.
On Sun we headed to Church in the morning and K helped me out in the 2 yo class and had so much fun that she stayed to help the next teachers while Bug and I headed to service. After church we ran to the grocery store to pick up a few things then went home and made sandwiches and had a picnic outside. Then K laid out and did some tanning while Bug and I laid in the hammock and did some reading of Harry Potter. After Don got home we had movie night and watched Bedtime Stories it was very cute, much better than I thought it would be. No headaches today for Bug so hopefully he has turned the corner for this virus the Dr. thought he was fighting.
