1st day of away school

Today was Bug's 1st day of away school. As I'm sure most of you know we school Bug at home. Which means that even though he is technically a Public school student we have always done all of his schooling at home. Last year we went through WA virtual academy, that way the school provides all of his curriculum (K12) and school supplies and we would just log onto the computer everyday figure out what to do for the day and do it. Then you check it all off when your done and that counts as your attendance. This year we decided to try something new even though we really liked the curriculum from WAVA, unfortunately they didn't provide enough opportunity for Bug to get together with other kids. SO this year we are going with one of our local school districts school-at-home programs. We get to choose the curriculum and then they reimburse us up to a certain dollar amount. Also Bug now goes to school 1 day a week. I really like the school house. It is an old 2 room school house that has been remodeled and updated. It is only for the HS (homeschool) kids. He now attends a 1-2 grade class on Mon. That way he gets to experience all those things that people keep telling me he is missing out on like recess and lunch (his 2 favorite things about school). So far he is really enjoying it and they do a lot to make us weirdo parents feel comfortable. Like have their Parent Open house on your child's 1st day of school. That way we were able to meet the teachers, learn what they would be teaching in class and what things they expect of the kids and of us. It was very comforting and I think Bug is going to love his teacher, she has just the type of personality that he gets along with so well. I can't believe my little boy will be gone 1 day a week, what will i do with myself. Don't worry about me, I'm sure I will figure out something.
