Mini Vacation & Solitude

Blue, Bug and I took a mini vacation this week. We headed out Sun to go skiing for 3 day up at 49 degrees. We take this trip every year and usually stay at a lodge up there. But this year they had raised their rates by 40.00 a night so we decided to try one of the hotels in town. It ended up to be a really nice place.

Sun we met our friend Cheryl and her boys E & G up there. It was a gorgeous day, bright and sunny, barely a jacket needed. Bug and E had a great time together. We tried to get G up skiing but he didn't even want to stand up on the skis. So after me basically carrying him down for 2 runs Cheryl took him to the daycare. The rest of the afternoon was great and the boys did well. E is quite the daredevil and is hilarious to watch. He'll tackle anything, fall down and just say "cool".

Mon was kind of foggy and cold, but I got a wonderful massage that evening that smoothed out the rough edges. Tue was sunny in the morning and started fogging in, in the afternoon. It was so nice to get away, just the three of us.

Then dark and early this morning Bug & Blue headed out for a trip to Seattle, just the two of them. I'm sure I will enjoy some alone time, but tonight I miss them.

A day at the fair.

We had a busy day today! 1st we tried to get a little schoolwork done, then Bug and I headed to our church for "Breakaway". This is a time for all the moms to get together once a month. We get to spend some time in prayer, some time talking and getting to know one another a little better and of course spend sometime eating, because when can a big group of women get together and there not be food involved. It was a lot of fun and they have changed the format somewhat this year, so it should be interesting. After Breakaway we headed to the fair and met Blue. Bug had such a blast riding the rides. He is of course now more that big enough for all of the kiddie rides, he even branched out and rode on some of the bigger rides in the afternoon. He was a little nervous at 1st so I told him to ask this girl if he could sit be her. Of course she said yea and you can see him chatting her up in the 1st pic. (If he stays as outgoing as he is now his teen years should be a breeze. ha ha

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good gift frenzy.

Merry Christmas or at least merry Christmas eve. Bug is sleeping in this morning so I figured I would catch up on my blogging. Everything is basically ready around here. I do need to go pick up a few food items but other than that everything is done. Of course just as a I write that i think of 5 other things I need to do: wrap a couple more presents, stuff some stockings, get a goody tray ready for Blue's work, etc.... We will be having Christmas at our house tomorrow, the only downer is that Blue has to work today and tomorrow. You gotta love the transit system around here, (he is a bus driver, if I haven't mentioned that before). So today we will run around and finish things up, then go to our Christmas Eve Church Service at 5. Then when Blue gets home we will cook up some pizza and after dinner we will open our stockings. In the morning we will just be hanging out until he gets home around 1 then we will have a nice lunch/brunch and then the gift frenzy will begin. Actually

No Bug for the week

This week Bug is going to a VBS at a local church, it runs from 9-3. Which is very nice in a way but also very strange. I took him in this morning and hung out with him for a few minutes while he got adjusted, then I went to the grocery store. Which was all fine but when I had to pass back by the church to head home it felt weird not having him, then all day at home I went back and forth between enjoying my time getting things done around the house and checking to see if it was time to pick him up yet. I got there to pick him up about 15 min early and waited around anxiously, when he finally came out he looked so tired, he seemed to have a good time but he did say "they sang for HOOUURRRS" and did not get to go out and play on the playground, but he is looking forward to going back tomorrow. This will be a strange week without him home all day. But it will be good practice for him because he will be going to a campfire day camp in a couple of weeks where he will be picked up
