Bug is a Star
OK not really, but he did film his 1st commercial today. We found out a week and a half ago that he did get the commercial that he auditioned for back in March. So today he filmed for Washington Trust bank. He was "super hero boy" along with another little boy. It's a good thing we homeschool and have a lot of flexibility, originally they were supposed to shoot it last week, then it got moved to Mon, then Tue and was finally at 7:30 this morning. We were the 1st ones to the location and then the other mom and her son who plays the other super hero boy, so we visited for a bit and the the production company got there and set up.
They came and looked at all the different clothes we had brought and picked a plain blue shirt, blue rocket ship jammie pants and blue rain boots and then gave him a red cape to wear. It was not an outfit I would ever have let him wear, let alone taken pictures in but it turned out cute.
They had the boys run in front of a white picket fence running away from the camera, Bug was so cute in the middle of the run there is a sidewalk and Bug decided to jump over it. He came back and told the director about the jump and the guy says "good thinking, you go with that." So Bug jumped on each take. Then they set up the camera so that the boys would run through the shot, a man followed them along holding their capes and through them up in the air just as they enter the shot.
The other little boy that was in it was too cute. He is 5 but looks more like he was 4, he was a full head shorter than Bug. When the director was giving them the directions on what to do, Bug is talking and agreeing and following right along and the other little boy was standing their with his arms crossed and a mad look on his face. I think his mom started to get a little worried, he just looked so serious. But as soon as the director said action he ran off, with a big smile looking too cute. He even had the best little brother run, with his feat a stomping and his elbows all akimbo.
For the final shot they put the little boy behind the picket fence so you could see his face through the slats and Bug was in front of it. Bug looks at his"brother" and then looks at the camera with a big smile. Very cute. After they started filming it took less than 45 minutes. The boys both had a great time. It will be on TV starting May 5th and then be pulled for the summer and resume a gain in the fall. I can't wait to see how it turned out.
