No more DVR/Dish

A couple of weeks ago my hubby got a call from Dish Network saying the bill hadn't been paid and since I pay the bills of course I end up hearing about it. I double check and of course I have paid the bill, so as we look into it more, it's not that I didn't pay the bill. I just paid the regular amount and apparently they had raised our bill (yet again). So over 2 months I was just under 20.00 behind, hence the call. So anyways, I was pretty annoyed to say the least and we had already been talking about canceling the dish, so I had Blue call them up and cancel it.

Of course with the DVR we didn't even notice at 1st, since we had plenty of shows to still watch, but we have now gone through them. We have a couple things still on there but nothing to interesting. Honestly I figured without the Dish, I would spend more time on the Internet and watch more movies, but so far neither of those things have happened. Even Bug has been watching A LOT less TV and he still even has shows recorded on the DVR (we haven't mailed them back yet). In fact when I went to turn the TV on the other night to listen to a concert I had recorded, Bug even asked me why I was turning it on. Normally he would ask me "what are we going to watch?"

Hopefully it will continue like this, before I started dating Blue I did not even have extended cable just 2-13. I loved it that way and I got a lot more reading done. This week I finished a book that I started forever ago and also read all of 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' which I picked up on Sat and finished that evening. Good book by the way, I will have to find the next one at the library and see how it is.

A day at the fair.

We had a busy day today! 1st we tried to get a little schoolwork done, then Bug and I headed to our church for "Breakaway". This is a time for all the moms to get together once a month. We get to spend some time in prayer, some time talking and getting to know one another a little better and of course spend sometime eating, because when can a big group of women get together and there not be food involved. It was a lot of fun and they have changed the format somewhat this year, so it should be interesting. After Breakaway we headed to the fair and met Blue. Bug had such a blast riding the rides. He is of course now more that big enough for all of the kiddie rides, he even branched out and rode on some of the bigger rides in the afternoon. He was a little nervous at 1st so I told him to ask this girl if he could sit be her. Of course she said yea and you can see him chatting her up in the 1st pic. (If he stays as outgoing as he is now his teen years should be a breeze. ha ha

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good gift frenzy.

Merry Christmas or at least merry Christmas eve. Bug is sleeping in this morning so I figured I would catch up on my blogging. Everything is basically ready around here. I do need to go pick up a few food items but other than that everything is done. Of course just as a I write that i think of 5 other things I need to do: wrap a couple more presents, stuff some stockings, get a goody tray ready for Blue's work, etc.... We will be having Christmas at our house tomorrow, the only downer is that Blue has to work today and tomorrow. You gotta love the transit system around here, (he is a bus driver, if I haven't mentioned that before). So today we will run around and finish things up, then go to our Christmas Eve Church Service at 5. Then when Blue gets home we will cook up some pizza and after dinner we will open our stockings. In the morning we will just be hanging out until he gets home around 1 then we will have a nice lunch/brunch and then the gift frenzy will begin. Actually

No Bug for the week

This week Bug is going to a VBS at a local church, it runs from 9-3. Which is very nice in a way but also very strange. I took him in this morning and hung out with him for a few minutes while he got adjusted, then I went to the grocery store. Which was all fine but when I had to pass back by the church to head home it felt weird not having him, then all day at home I went back and forth between enjoying my time getting things done around the house and checking to see if it was time to pick him up yet. I got there to pick him up about 15 min early and waited around anxiously, when he finally came out he looked so tired, he seemed to have a good time but he did say "they sang for HOOUURRRS" and did not get to go out and play on the playground, but he is looking forward to going back tomorrow. This will be a strange week without him home all day. But it will be good practice for him because he will be going to a campfire day camp in a couple of weeks where he will be picked up
