Happy Memorial Weekend.


What a wonderful Memorial Weekend. It got off to a bit of a rocky start though. Bug's play did their stills (pics of the everybody in costume, in their different scenes) on Sat after the play. They were supposed to take an hour but after an hour and 45 min they still weren't done, but we took off anyway. So we ended up getting out to our friends L & K's around 7, just in time for the tail end of dinner. We set up camp and Bug found some of his friends to play with. They rode around in the powerwheels, played in the tree house and bounced on the trampoline. We even had a fire, though it started raining so that closed the evening down early. But our new (to us) camper did really well.

The next morning we got up and everybody took turns riding on the ATV's. Bug even rode one of the small ones all by himself, I didn't get a pic of that for some reason. He had a blast though riding with me and then dad. Our friend's own about 7 acres and have made numerous trails on the property, it was fun just tooling around their woods. Throughout the afternoon different friends came and went. So we visited, ate drank and had an all around good time. Even Blue had a good time, which can be a difficult feat to accomplish sometimes. But look at the smile on his face. We had such a great time that we even camped over an extra night. We took off at 8 on Mon morning so that Bug and I could meet some friends at a local park to ride the rides and have lunch together.

Overall it was a very nice relaxing way to spend Memorial Weekend.

A day at the fair.

We had a busy day today! 1st we tried to get a little schoolwork done, then Bug and I headed to our church for "Breakaway". This is a time for all the moms to get together once a month. We get to spend some time in prayer, some time talking and getting to know one another a little better and of course spend sometime eating, because when can a big group of women get together and there not be food involved. It was a lot of fun and they have changed the format somewhat this year, so it should be interesting. After Breakaway we headed to the fair and met Blue. Bug had such a blast riding the rides. He is of course now more that big enough for all of the kiddie rides, he even branched out and rode on some of the bigger rides in the afternoon. He was a little nervous at 1st so I told him to ask this girl if he could sit be her. Of course she said yea and you can see him chatting her up in the 1st pic. (If he stays as outgoing as he is now his teen years should be a breeze. ha ha

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good gift frenzy.

Merry Christmas or at least merry Christmas eve. Bug is sleeping in this morning so I figured I would catch up on my blogging. Everything is basically ready around here. I do need to go pick up a few food items but other than that everything is done. Of course just as a I write that i think of 5 other things I need to do: wrap a couple more presents, stuff some stockings, get a goody tray ready for Blue's work, etc.... We will be having Christmas at our house tomorrow, the only downer is that Blue has to work today and tomorrow. You gotta love the transit system around here, (he is a bus driver, if I haven't mentioned that before). So today we will run around and finish things up, then go to our Christmas Eve Church Service at 5. Then when Blue gets home we will cook up some pizza and after dinner we will open our stockings. In the morning we will just be hanging out until he gets home around 1 then we will have a nice lunch/brunch and then the gift frenzy will begin. Actually

No Bug for the week

This week Bug is going to a VBS at a local church, it runs from 9-3. Which is very nice in a way but also very strange. I took him in this morning and hung out with him for a few minutes while he got adjusted, then I went to the grocery store. Which was all fine but when I had to pass back by the church to head home it felt weird not having him, then all day at home I went back and forth between enjoying my time getting things done around the house and checking to see if it was time to pick him up yet. I got there to pick him up about 15 min early and waited around anxiously, when he finally came out he looked so tired, he seemed to have a good time but he did say "they sang for HOOUURRRS" and did not get to go out and play on the playground, but he is looking forward to going back tomorrow. This will be a strange week without him home all day. But it will be good practice for him because he will be going to a campfire day camp in a couple of weeks where he will be picked up
