Fun Day

Today was an especially fun day with my boy. We got up and got dressed and headed out to Break Away a gathering for moms at my church. Just as we were leaving Bug saw the post man and asked me to go grab the mail from him, he has been waiting for his paycheck from the commercial he did last month. So I ran out and grabbed it and lo and behold there was his paycheck, he was so excited to finally get it.


So then we headed out to church, which is always a nice time of eating and chatting, afterwards Bug wanted to go play in the big grassy area out in front of our Church, so I hung out in the car to read a magazine for a bit. It was a really windy day out and I suddenly remembered that I had a kite in the trunk. So Bug and I spent about an hour flying the kite.

Then we remembered his check and we headed to the bank for him to deposit it. I like him to do as much as possible, so I had him sign his check and take it up to the counter and tell them how much he wanted in savings and how much cash he wanted. They thought he was so cute so I told them this was his 1st paycheck he was cashing and he got to tell them all about his commercial. He had already decided that he wanted to use his money to buy a new Didj, I had found one on sale a couple of weeks ago and picked it up for him until he got his paycheck. So when we got home he gave me 35.00 and he got his brand new Didj, which he then spent the afternoon playing.

In the evening we headed to our church to see a concert put on by the man who makes up all the songs for Lifeway VBS. It was a lot of fun, everybody was up singing and dancing along. All the kids got to go up on stage and sing along. Then he went around and asked to kids to recite any bible verses they knew. Bug raised his hand and I thought this should be interesting since I couldn't think of any particular verses that he knew so I was quite surprised when he said "whoever serves me, must follow me" but he couldn't remember where in the bible it was. I was very impressed, most of the kids quoted John 3:16. He then went on to tell the kids what kind of life they would lead based on the verse they knew. All the John 3:16 kids where going to preach the Gospel, he said Bug would be a devoted follower of the Lord. I hope he is right.

We had a busy day today! 1st we tried to get a little schoolwork done, then Bug and I headed to our church for "Breakaway". This is a time for all the moms to get together once a month. We get to spend some time in prayer, some time talking and getting to know one another a little better and of course spend sometime eating, because when can a big group of women get together and there not be food involved. It was a lot of fun and they have changed the format somewhat this year, so it should be interesting. After Breakaway we headed to the fair and met Blue. Bug had such a blast riding the rides. He is of course now more that big enough for all of the kiddie rides, he even branched out and rode on some of the bigger rides in the afternoon. He was a little nervous at 1st so I told him to ask this girl if he could sit be her. Of course she said yea and you can see him chatting her up in the 1st pic. (If he stays as outgoing as he is now his teen years should be a breeze. ha ha

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good gift frenzy.

Merry Christmas or at least merry Christmas eve. Bug is sleeping in this morning so I figured I would catch up on my blogging. Everything is basically ready around here. I do need to go pick up a few food items but other than that everything is done. Of course just as a I write that i think of 5 other things I need to do: wrap a couple more presents, stuff some stockings, get a goody tray ready for Blue's work, etc.... We will be having Christmas at our house tomorrow, the only downer is that Blue has to work today and tomorrow. You gotta love the transit system around here, (he is a bus driver, if I haven't mentioned that before). So today we will run around and finish things up, then go to our Christmas Eve Church Service at 5. Then when Blue gets home we will cook up some pizza and after dinner we will open our stockings. In the morning we will just be hanging out until he gets home around 1 then we will have a nice lunch/brunch and then the gift frenzy will begin. Actually

No Bug for the week

This week Bug is going to a VBS at a local church, it runs from 9-3. Which is very nice in a way but also very strange. I took him in this morning and hung out with him for a few minutes while he got adjusted, then I went to the grocery store. Which was all fine but when I had to pass back by the church to head home it felt weird not having him, then all day at home I went back and forth between enjoying my time getting things done around the house and checking to see if it was time to pick him up yet. I got there to pick him up about 15 min early and waited around anxiously, when he finally came out he looked so tired, he seemed to have a good time but he did say "they sang for HOOUURRRS" and did not get to go out and play on the playground, but he is looking forward to going back tomorrow. This will be a strange week without him home all day. But it will be good practice for him because he will be going to a campfire day camp in a couple of weeks where he will be picked up
