The obsession continues....


As I mentioned recently I have been obsessed with the Twilight series of books. I have now seen the movie 4 times and read all 4 books plus the manuscript twice. Well we decided to head over to Seattle (Bug and I) for our 1st trip of the year and spend some time out at the ocean. When I was looking at availabilities for our time share I noticed one up in Port Townsend area and decided to stay there and then head down to Forks for the day.


My friend Tonia and her girls are also obsessed with the books so they came with us. So on Tue we drove down to Forks, there is Twilight everything there. And a ton of other silly people (like me) driving around taking pictures of all the local sights. Since the movie wasn't filmed there, this pretty much amounts to the "Welcome to Forks" sign and the sign for the high school. They had a couple really neat shops with all sorts of Twilight memorabilia.

After checking out Forks, we headed down to the La Push beach on the Quileute Indian Reservation and even went hiking along the Jetty at 1st Beach, lots of drift wood perfect to hear scary stories of Werewolves and Cold Ones.

We had such a great day. The beach was gorgeous and the town was very friendly and more than happy to take our money for their souvenirs.

A day at the fair.

We had a busy day today! 1st we tried to get a little schoolwork done, then Bug and I headed to our church for "Breakaway". This is a time for all the moms to get together once a month. We get to spend some time in prayer, some time talking and getting to know one another a little better and of course spend sometime eating, because when can a big group of women get together and there not be food involved. It was a lot of fun and they have changed the format somewhat this year, so it should be interesting. After Breakaway we headed to the fair and met Blue. Bug had such a blast riding the rides. He is of course now more that big enough for all of the kiddie rides, he even branched out and rode on some of the bigger rides in the afternoon. He was a little nervous at 1st so I told him to ask this girl if he could sit be her. Of course she said yea and you can see him chatting her up in the 1st pic. (If he stays as outgoing as he is now his teen years should be a breeze. ha ha

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good gift frenzy.

Merry Christmas or at least merry Christmas eve. Bug is sleeping in this morning so I figured I would catch up on my blogging. Everything is basically ready around here. I do need to go pick up a few food items but other than that everything is done. Of course just as a I write that i think of 5 other things I need to do: wrap a couple more presents, stuff some stockings, get a goody tray ready for Blue's work, etc.... We will be having Christmas at our house tomorrow, the only downer is that Blue has to work today and tomorrow. You gotta love the transit system around here, (he is a bus driver, if I haven't mentioned that before). So today we will run around and finish things up, then go to our Christmas Eve Church Service at 5. Then when Blue gets home we will cook up some pizza and after dinner we will open our stockings. In the morning we will just be hanging out until he gets home around 1 then we will have a nice lunch/brunch and then the gift frenzy will begin. Actually

No Bug for the week

This week Bug is going to a VBS at a local church, it runs from 9-3. Which is very nice in a way but also very strange. I took him in this morning and hung out with him for a few minutes while he got adjusted, then I went to the grocery store. Which was all fine but when I had to pass back by the church to head home it felt weird not having him, then all day at home I went back and forth between enjoying my time getting things done around the house and checking to see if it was time to pick him up yet. I got there to pick him up about 15 min early and waited around anxiously, when he finally came out he looked so tired, he seemed to have a good time but he did say "they sang for HOOUURRRS" and did not get to go out and play on the playground, but he is looking forward to going back tomorrow. This will be a strange week without him home all day. But it will be good practice for him because he will be going to a campfire day camp in a couple of weeks where he will be picked up
